Awaiting 14th August

Sophi
Hello everyone,

A-level results day is slowly creeping up on us, we now have 3 weeks to go. Here in the Clearing office everyone is filled with anxious dread as well as excitement for the 14th August.  Even though we know it’s going to be a long day (Phones/chat opens at 7am – 8pm) it’s always a fast past and exciting.

When calling (or chatting) with any university here are my TOP TIPS-
  • Have your UCAS number to hand – This will just make the process go quicker and easier.
  • Be clear and concise.
  • Have a pen and paper to write down email addresses/telephone numbers or just useful information you might need to remember.
  • No questions are silly questions – Believe me we have heard it all; we are here to answer any of your questions on all parts of university life.
  • Keep calm – It’s going to be a stressful day, you might have to wait in a queue before you can speak to us but we are trying to help as many people as possible.
  • Stay positive – Even if you didn’t get into your first choice of university or course there are always many other options out there for you.
  • Remember we cannot talk to your parents (unless they are your nominated person on UCAS) – It’s always best to talk to us yourself, we know it’s scary but it’s an important step.

Here is a useful videos of things to check before result day.
