The season we have all been waiting for has finally arrived.
With Greenwich going 20 places up the league tables, it is now even more
competitive to get into our prestigious university. A lot of really popular
courses at Greenwich have even increased their tariff points. Hmmm. To be
honest, nothing else has changed much since last Clearing; however I will do a
little recap on how to apply for courses in Clearing. Clearing is only open to
applicants who have complete results and a UCAS form for 2014. That means if
you haven’t received your A-level or BTEC exams yet, then you cannot apply
until you receive them in August.
Between now and the release of the A-level results it is
pretty much quiet, especially since UCAS web-link has been down for a little
over a week, there was no way for us to verify qualifications of applicants.
This period is known as “EARLY CLEARING”, and is mostly for people who want to
make last minute applications into university. “LATE CLEARING” occurs in August
after the release of the A-level and BTEC results. Now this is the most busy
part of Clearing, the days we all look forward to; the tears, the joy, the
screaming and kicking; the days when students know which university they will
be going to or not!
All in all students, it is never the end of the world, there
is a chance for everyone somewhere. Just
think Bill Gates or even Mark Zuckerberg.
Toodles!
